Italian company Wearable Robotics develops exoskeletons for the upper limbs. These aid rehabilitation, and help workers with musculoskeletal disorders to carry heavy loads.
alex_skeleton_452 Gait training is vital for people who have suffered a stroke, in helping them recover neuromuscular plasticity. It is a key step in improving functional walking ability. Under the supervision of a physiotherapist, the exoskeleton developed by Wearable Robotics helps patients reproduce the desired motion – i.e. something close to a natural gait. This is done by applying effective force to the subject’s ankle using sensors on the hips and knees, which measure the interaction points between the person and the machine.
